Membership Profile

It is recognised that many public agencies are now working on health promotion, public health and disease prevention at national, regional and local levels, and that links with other relevant networks within those fields are important. EuroHealthNet has therefore been set up to enable closer cooperation between those bodies.

Who can become member ?

  • National bodies, organisations, agencies or authorities in the EU and associated states publicly responsible and accountable, relevant to or working on public health, health promotion, disease prevention and/or determinants of health and social inequities;

  • Regional and local bodies responsible and accountable as above

  • National, regional, municipal and local public bodies responsible for delivery and implementation of health determinants, public health, health promotion and disease prevention measures

  • National and regional centers of expertise in public health, health promotion, disease prevention, health determinants and social inequities.

How to join?

EuroHealthNet is independently constituted as a not for profit organisation according to the law of Belgium, where our office is based. We have a legal statute and internal rules which may only be revised at our annual General Assembly open to all participants. Copies are available on request and will be provided on application. If your rules allow participation in such a network, you can become a Member.

For further information, including details for membership or information services that we provide, please contact Elizabeth O’Connor.

Collaborating Partners

We created an option to become a Collaborating Partner (non-paying). The status of collaborating partner is inclusive and offers some membership benefits and services. As a collaborating partner, you will receive our external newsletter health Highlights. The internal newsletter Health Action Memo, informing members on interesting calls for proposals/tenders and other internal information, will also be sent to you, but one month after direct mailing to members only. You will have access to our members’ section on the website (containing useful information such as the Policy Dossier) and you will also have limited promotion on the EuroHealthNet website.

However, priority for project participation will be made for paying members, who will also receive Health Action Memos directly and in advance of collaborating partners. In addition to that, collaborating partners do not have full rights to decide network work programmes, nor do they have voting rights at the General Assembly.

We in particular target the following associations to become collaborating partners:

  • All national ministries relevant to network eligibility criteria

  • All pre-EU accession national and regional institutes and ministries meeting eligibility criteria

Please contact Elizabeth O’Connor for more information about the status as collaborating partner.

Apart from membership, there are of course many other ways in which you could be linked more with EuroHealthNet in order to exchange information on health inequalities projects and policy developments. We would strongly encourage you to join the Equity Channel which is an online community platform. You can become member of the Equity Channel and interact with stakeholders working on health inequalities all over the world. Please go to www.equitychannel.net
