Policy & Communications
While the European Union has no power to legislate on issues directly related to health care services, many elements of the EU agenda can have a major impact on health outcomes.
EU institutions significantly contribute to reducing or increasing health inequalities across the social gradient through a variety of strategies, policies, programmes and initiatives which shape the socio-economic determinants of health (the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age).
Through its Policy and Communications work, EuroHealthNet aims to monitor, document and influence these developments to ensure greater health equity between and within EU member states.
