Research & Projects

EuroHealthNet monitors calls for projects and tenders, and develops proposals for projects and tenders in order to develop knowledge and evidence. EuroHealthNet's role in these projects and tenders can range from leading the process of submitting joint proposals to participating in proposals developed by others, to coordination and management of all or some key components of strategic projects.

Funding for projects comes mostly from the European Commission, in particular DG SANCO and DG RESEARCH's Health programme, but EuroHealthNet also takes on projects funded by other DG's and other institutions, and we are occasionally contracted to carry out research for members.

Most of the current projects focus on how (health) policies can contribute to reducing health inequalities and inequalities in the (social) determinants of health, and on promoting health in all policies. In addition, EuroHealthNet participates in projects on health promotion dealing with the issues of the changing society, such as healthy ageing and sustainability.
