Dr Paolo Stocco is a psychologist and psychotherapist and he started his carrier in 1984 founding a non profit organization Comunità di Venezia established in Venice with the aims of residential treatment centers for young drug addicted and mothers addicted with children.
He has been involved in different european networks in treatement, prevention and research in the field of mental health and drug abuse and also carried out many european projects.
He held managerial or leading roles for public institutions and Non Profit Organizations and he was appointed advisor for the Veneto Region.
From 1992-2005, Paolo Stocco was a university lecturer and researcher at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Department of Morphological Science and Legal Medicine, where his teaching and research focused on the prevention of pathological behaviour and drug prevention.
From January 2008 to December 2012 he held the role of General Director of Local Health Authoritiy of Veneto Orientale.
From 2009 to 2012 was appointed president of Veneto Formss, an in house company for the higher learning of health public management.
He also started and lead (2009-2012) the National Project of Minister of Health, called Mattone Internazionale, to increasing the role of the regional health systems and policies in Europe by strengthening their competences in investigating opportunities offered by the European Union and other international organizations.
