Ineta Zirina works in the Riga City Department of Welfare as a chief specialist of health promotion, mainly with international projects.
She has a bachelor degree in biology and a master degree in public administration from the Latvian State University. She has had also studied at the Public Health Master programme from the Goteburg Public Health School and has finished doctoral studies in Public Health at Riga Stradins University.
During many years, she headed and participated in various implementation teams for more than 30 international EU vide projects.She is experienced in work with organizations and institutions in Eastern European and post-Soviet countries. She has extended experience of work with KOLs in health care at national level and also with international bodies like WHO, World Bank in development and realisation of structural reforms in health care system and with media and PR companies. ShaI had been leading Latvian Health Promotion State Agency from 1996 till 2006 as director. Sha initiated the development of health promotion infrastructure in Latvia at national and regional levels.
