Financing and investing in health equity and wellbeing

Health systems need to shift towards investing more in health promotion and prevention, including tackling the underlying causes of ill-health and disease.

This seminar will look at new opportunities for major investments for public health, including EU instruments and new programmes such as EFSI 2.0 and new ESIF plans, but also including the role of the EIB and PPPs such as micro-financing and crowd-funding for smaller projects as part of social innovation initiatives. The seminar will discuss the role of health insurance funds and present the new German Prevention Act in leading to higher investments for health promotion and disease prevention in disadvantages areas.
