EIT Health’s 2019 Summit: “Defining unmet need – how much does it matter?”
A two-day event taking place in Paris which will bring together some of the world’s leading experts in healthcare innovation, to ask why defining societal unmet health needs matters.
EIT Health, a network of best-in-class health innovators supported by the European Union, announces its 2019 Summit “Defining unmet need – how much does it matter?”
Over the two-day event between the 2-3 December 2019 at the Palais Brongniart in Paris, EIT Health will tackle the question of how we can create meaningful innovation in healthcare that meets the societal needs of today and yet is future proofed for tomorrow.
It will provide an exciting opportunity for healthcare professionals, policy makers, patient representatives, investors and start-ups, to access expert insights and discover the future of healthcare. The Summit will cover topics including investment, regulation, education and patient involvement, along with breakout sessions exploring these subjects in more depth.
There will be presentations from prominent names in healthcare and innovation from organisations such as the European Medicines Agency, the European Patients’ Forum, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Medtronic, Harvard and Nasdaq.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage and interact with all the innovations being showcased at the EIT Health Summit Exhibition over both days. They can meet with innovators from the EIT Health network and other stakeholders, and on the afternoon of 2nd December watch the most promising European health start-ups pitch in the grand final of the European Health Catapult programme.
Jan-Philipp Beck, CEO of EIT Health commented:
“EIT Health’s annual Summit is fast becoming one of the must attend events in the European health innovation calendar, presenting an exciting opportunity to engage with the latest thinking and developments in healthcare.”

About EIT Health
EIT Health is a network of best-in-class health innovators with over 150 partners and is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. We collaborate across borders to deliver new solutions that can enable European citizens to live longer, healthier lives.
As Europeans tackle the challenge of increasing chronic diseases and multi-morbidity, and seek to realise the opportunities that technology offers to move beyond conventional approaches to treatment, prevention and healthy lifestyles, we need thought leaders, innovators and efficient ways to bring innovative healthcare solutions to market.
EIT Health addresses these needs. We connect all relevant healthcare players across European borders – making sure to include all sides of the “knowledge triangle”, so that innovation can happen at the intersection of research, education and business for the benefit of citizens.
EIT Health: Together for healthy lives in Europe.
