The four-day scientific conference will discuss what needs to be done to reduce health inequalities. Health inequalities are a persistent problem in European countries. Although health in Europe had improved in recent decades, inequalities in health have widened as well.
EuroHealthNet co-organises the EPH pre-conference as well as the conference plenary session. EuroHealthNet will present the DRIVERS project (www.health-gradient.eu), a three-year research project funded by the 7th Framework Programme aiming to promote health equity through policy and practice in early childhood development, employment & working conditions, and income & social protection.
The European Public Health Conference aims to contribute to the improvement of public health in Europe by offering a means for exchanging information and a platform for debate to researchers, policy makers, and practitioners in the field of public health and health services research as well as public health training and education in Europe.
Caroline Costongs – EuroHealthNet’s Managing Director – will also present EuroHealthNet’s work on structural funds in a workshop.
