EuroHealthNet is organizing a workshop on Mental health promotion at work/at the workplace on Tuesday, 19th May 2015. The one-day workshop will take place in Brussels from 9.30 am untill 3pm. We will take the opportunity to discuss the importance and benefits of mental health promotion for the society and for the economy and present you the EU initiatives which EuroHealthNet is involved in such as the JA on mental health and wellbeing, the healthy workplaces manage stress campaign and the EU mental health compass. We will discuss the current EU legislation which provides the legal basis for mental health promotion at work and our members will have the opportunity to present the state of play for mental health promotion at the workplace from their countries. Two organisations/companies will present their successful mental health promotion strategies at work as an example on what can be done by companies to promote mental health.
The workshop consist of four main sessions:
- Session 1: The social and economic benefits of a healthy mind at work. Why should we care?
- Session 2: Mental Health promotion at work – The legal base in the EU and in the member states
- Session 3: Healthy workplaces manage stress campaign and winners
- Session 4: A way forward – the future of mental health promotion at work
The workshop will provide a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas on possible future actions for European, national and regional policy makers to take to encourage mental health promotion implementation. Amongst our speakers there will be European Commission’s officials, partners involved in EU mental health initiatives, several representatives from the EU member states as well as other stakeholders from EU organizations.
