On 7-8 April, the kick off meeting of the Joint Action on Health Inequalities took place in Luxembourg. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the overall methodology of the Joint Action and how the different partners will work together.
The general aims of the Joint Action are to help reduce health inequalities by developing knowledge for action on health inequalities; supporting the engagement at EU, Member states and regional level in tackling health inequalities; enabling shared learning between Member States and other actors; and supporting the development of effective action at European policy level. EuroHealthNet Coordinator of one of the work strands that aims to establish a regional network, and we presented the overall work plan and detailed planning for the next months. One of the first priorities is to circulate a Needs Assessment Questionnaire to explore how regions are addressing health inequalities and what their needs and assets are.
The questionnaire is expected to be sent at the beginning of May, and will be addressed to all regions in Europe.
