Today, EuroHealthNet and the South-Eastern Europe Health Network (SEEHN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to reinforce their cooperation in the field of public health.
Recognizing the importance of public health to support political cooperation and economic development in the SEE Region and in Europe, EuroHealthnet and SEEHN want to expand their exchange in public health in a spirit of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit.
The aim of such a partnership for cooperation is to strengthen public health services and capacities as well as to improving health equity. Both organisations will focus on jointly proposed subject areas, such as public health system strengthening, prevention of non-communicable diseases, mental health, health inequalities and the social determinants of health.
David Pattison, President of EuroHealthNet underlined "The signing of this memorandum of understanding is an important milestone in the fight to reduce inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of approximately 560 million citizens across Europe. EuroHealthNet looks forwards to this exciting partnership growing and developing in the coming years and is confident the networks will make a significant contribution to both policy development and implementation".
