Caroline Costongs, EuroHealthNet's Managing Director, attends the high-level conference "Europe 2020 Poverty Target: Lessons learned and the way forward" organised in the context of the ongoing mid-term review on the Europe 2020 strategy by European Commission is organising on 9 October 2014 in Brussels.
The aim is to discuss lessons learned in the Europe 2020 strategy as concerns the target to have at least 20 million fewer people in or at risk of poverty and social exclusion by 2020.
The event will be attended by Ministers, high-level policymakers, civil society, academics, social entrepreneurs, social innovators, and representatives of EU institutions.
The conference will:
- take stock of the developments and drivers of poverty and social exclusion in the EU;
- examine the EU’s role in monitoring social policies and developments and in supporting Member States to improve social outcomes; and
- identify future policy priorities and avenues of work at EU and national level.
