New evidence on obesity and inequalities in England

New evidence has been published by Public Health England showing the extent of prevalence of overweight people by locality. It shows that 64% of people are recorded as ''overweight'' across England, and also points to severe inequalities in the situation across the country ranging from 57% in London to over 68% in the north. The agency points out that the rate of increase in obesity among children and adults is slowing, but again highlights inequities as this is occurring faster in more affluent areas.
