Belgian Presidency: Europe united against old and new pandemics

On 14 and 15 May, the Belgian Presidency will host the conference ‘Europe united against old and new pandemics‘ in cooperation with the European Commission, WVG, Sciensano and SPW. The two-day event will take place at A Room with a ZOO, a fascinating and historic conference centre in the heart of Antwerp.
The global COVID-19 pandemic alerted Europe and the rest of the world to the need to be better prepared for new infections and pandemics. A Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) that aims to increase pandemic preparedness through research & development will start in 2024.
The conference is the ideal time to present the goals of this collaboration and strengthen the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA).
