Empowering communities: a way towards stronger health systems (EuroHealthNet speaking)
This session of the European Health Management Association’s 2022 webinar series ‘Health Management in action: Fostering health systems’ resilience’ takes place on Thursday, 27 October 2022 from 13.30 to 14.15 CET – followed by a 30-minute networking session (14.15 – 14.45 CET).

Health literacy, health promotion, prevention, awareness raising and education all enable citizens to play a greater decision-making role, from the community level to the broader governmental and European scale. In health crises, countries rely both on their health system and the participation of communities to manage the challenges encountered. Further, meeting the health literacy needs of disadvantaged and marginalised societies can accelerate the progress to reduce inequalities in health. The session will highlight case studies and offer practical solutions to improve community engagement.
