EuroHealthNet webinar: Does manipulation of food culture impact food system policy?
This March, EuroHealthNet, along with the FEAST2030 initiative will host a ‘Policy Chat’ that will explore our food systems.
From the production of food to its distribution and consumption, there is a widespread call to implement policies that can achieve a more sustainable and healthier food system.
Yet, applying food policies often encounters resistance. This partly stems from the belief that well-established traditions should remain untouched. Additionally, the complex nature of our food systems and the diverse ways communities interact with food requires adaptable policies that respect existing cultural practices.
In collaboration with the FEAST2030 initiative, we will delve into how cultural exchange and interaction have continuously reshaped food traditions and ask: Does manipulating food culture impact food policies? We will also discuss how different groups advocate for specific foods and practices, and how existing food cultures are strategically used to support or oppose legislation.
Join us online on March 26 from 10:00 – 12:30 CET.
