Belgian Presidency: European Child Guarantee – from engagement to reality
The European Child Guarantee is a European Recommendation aiming to create more equal opportunities for vulnerable children.
The event has a dual objective: firstly, to give key players the opportunity to analyse the work already completed and what remains to be done to achieve the objectives set, and secondly, to provide coordinators with a platform to share their knowledge in the implementation of the European Child Guarantee.
The first day will be dedicated to a review of the situation, while the second day will be focused on discussions between the coordinators of the European Child Guarantee, the European Commission, and key players on the ground.
One of the priorities of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the EU is to pursue work on the social component of the European Union, by implementing the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights. This Pillar includes 20 principles aiming to make the European Union fairer and more inclusive.
