Health as the ability to adapt and self-manage: Towards a resilient society – International Conference on Positive Health
Organised by the Institute for Positive Health (IPH). 11 November 2021.
Ten years ago, in the British Medical Journal, Machteld Huber, André Knottnerus, Henk Smid, Alex Jadad and many others published a new concept of health in which resilience and self-reliance are central. In the Netherlands, this concept has been further developed into ‘Positive Health’ by Machteld Huber and in Canada, into Trusted networks by Alex Jadad.
What are the next steps we need to take together to make Positive Health and Trusted Networks add value in all domains, so health inequalities become smaller, we age more vitally, and we can have a more open dialogue about social issues? What impact would this have, and how can we keep healthcare affordable? These are some of the questions discussed during the international conference on positive health on 11 November 2021.
The Institute of Positive Health (IPH) has designed a special online programme for our international participants to join in the English Livestream. There is an online session, live stream of the lecture from Alex Jadad, the launch of the English Handbook Positive Health in Primary care, the Dutch example and you can participate in a workshop about a variety of international experiences with Positive Health.
EuroHealthNet is co-organising an interactive workshop with IPH, exploring international experiences of positive health. The workshop will feature contributions from several of our members, as well as international organisations working with positive health principles.
