Input on making Europe’s Digital Decade fit for children and young people.
The European Commission has opened a consultation to receive input on the opportunities and benefits which children and young people can benefit from being online, as well as the challenges and risks. EuroHealthNet responded to the consultation, and underlined the need to support children and young people as they learn how to find reliable information, how to communicate and with connect with families and friends, and how to use the internet and digital technology to support their learning. While full with opportunities, the digital decade can increase inequalities. To support these groups to be able to benefit from the opportunities of the digital decade as well as to protect themselves from the risks, we advocated from investments in inclusive digital & health literacy/competence programs.
