The pandemic has had a devastating impact on the most disadvantaged groups, increasing health inequalities. How can public health responses protect the most vulnerable?

COVID-19 has exposed and exacerbated health inequalities that pervade our societies. The momentum is there to ‘build back better’. This requires, first and foremost, that we build back fairer.

At this webinar, Professor Clare Bambara set out the findings of her upcoming book (June 2021), “The Unequal Pandemic: COVID-19 and health inequalities”, with an emphasis on the ‘lessons for a post covid future’. Subsequent speakers built on this and identified strong examples of ‘investable’ solutions that can instigate further change in the systems and structures shaping our lives.
