Webinar: Marketing bans – the role of advertising in alcohol consumption
The fourth WHO/Europe and International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) webinar will explore how alcohol marketing, especially digital, shapes youth consumption and how comprehensive bans can reduce harm. It will highlight global research and the case of Lithuania’s full advertising ban, the first in the EU.
The session will focus on emerging challenges from social media, influencer promotions, and targeted ads, calling for updated regulatory approaches.
Part of the EVID-ACTION project, funded by the European Commission, the webinar supports evidence-based alcohol policy in the EU, Iceland, Norway, and Ukraine.
