BEST-COST Factsheet: The unequal health burden of air and noise pollution in Europe
This BEST-COST factsheet explores how air and noise pollution affect people’s health in unequal and different ways across Europe. By looking at the five BEST-COST case study countries, the factsheet shares relevant tools developed by the project that can help researchers and policymakers take action to reduce the burden of disease and mitigate health inequalities.
BEST-COST is an EU-funded research project working to improve methodologies to better understand the socioeconomic cost of environmental stressors, focusing on air and noise pollution. The expected results will contribute to improved policies and practices that reduce the burden of disease, and to creating living and working environments that are more health-promoting, equitable and sustainable across the whole of Europe.
