EuroHealthNet calls for MEPs to build a healthier Europe
EuroHealthNet congratulates all new Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and has issued a call to the newly elected MEPs, urging them to take decisive action to ensure the sustainability of Europe’s health and social systems.
The Partnership emphasises the urgent need to reduce the growing demand for care and to address the challenges posed by a shrinking workforce in the health sector. EuroHealthNet also urges MEPs to prioritise health equity across all EU policies, maintain a strong focus on preventive measures, and ensure that EU funds are effectively directed towards building a healthier Europe.
To achieve these goals, EuroHealthNet is calling on MEPs to:
- Prioritise health and wellbeing in all EU policies, from environment to the economy, including social, education, and agriculture.
- Keep a strong focus on prevention, health inequalities, and the sustainability of health services in all dossiers.
- Establish a European Parliament Intergroup on the Wellbeing Economy.
- Ensure EU funds are promoting a healthier Europe.
