EuroHealthNet responds to EU consultation on Horizon Europe work programme 2025
EuroHealthNet responded to the European Commission consultation on the Horizon Europe work programme 2025. Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion, aimed at addressing climate change, advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and enhancing the EU’s competitiveness. It facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting and implementing EU policies while tackling global challenges.
The aim of this survey is to evaluate the Horizon Europe 2025 work programme’s effectiveness, relevance, efficiency, and overall value. The response helps identify areas for improvement and inform future decisions about the programme.
EuroHealthNet’s consultation response emphasises the need for integrated, person-centered approaches in health and social services, comprehensive preventative policies, and a stronger focus on equity and social determinants of health. We highlight the importance of structural approaches and cross-sectoral research to address pollution and climate change impacts on health, advocating for policies that ensure environmental sustainability and social inclusion.
