Nadine Zillmann
Nadine Zillmann is passionate about health promotion and public health, recognising the pivotal role they play in reducing preventable diseases and improving population health outcomes. In the current landscape of evolving health challenges and increasing chronic conditions, she is dedicated to developing evidence-based strategies that bolster health systems and promote equity. She focuses on integrating health-promoting and preventive approaches into policy and practice to achieve a sustainable, long-term impact.
Nadine Zillmann is a public health expert who studied educational and sports science at the University of Leipzig. She holds a doctorate in sports science from the University of Western Australia in Perth, as well as a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Vienna. In 2022, she joined the Austrian National Public Health Institute (GÖG), where she led the Competence Centre for Health Promotion and Healthcare from 2024 to 2025.
In January 2025, she was appointed to the executive board of the Austrian National Public Health Institute (GÖG), assuming responsibility for the Agenda for Health Promotion. In this role, she is responsible for providing strategic direction and further developing this area in collaboration with the associated competence centres and other GÖG departments. The national health portal gesundheit.gv.at also falls within this remit. Since 2024, she has served as Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Promotion in Hospitals and Health Care (Deputy Director 2023–2024).
